Data, Knowledge, and Decision

This is simple note in regards to ‘Data, knowledge, and decision’. No conclusion nor solution is included in this article.

Every activities that intelligence workers conduct these days can be categorized into three steps:
– Data mining
– Knowledge generation (Data analysis)
– Decision making

Activities under each categories are not mutually related; it’s independent. The trap that people can easily fall into is when people think they can make right decision if they get accurate data and knowledge. It’s not true. Decision can be vary, even with the same data and knowledge.
